I don’t know about you, but the tragedies that happened recently in Connecticut have impacted the way I think about this world in which we live. This world has become such a dark place that children are not safe to attend school. People are killing each other, babies are dying each day due to abortion, families are being ripped apart by divorce, and the list goes on and on. If you think too much about it, it will make most anyone depressed.
When I turned the television on the other day and saw what had taken place at the elementary school in Newtown Connecticut I was devastated. I kept putting myself in the shoes of those parents who had lost their children at the hands of this murderer. I cannot imagine the horror they must have felt, each one of them as the school called to tell them of the massacre. How can anyone have done this, how could our world gotten so out of hand. Many people want to turn to God to blame Him for allowing it to happen. How can anyone blame God when God had been taken out of schools completely these days?
It seems as if the world is getting worse. I am praying daily for these parents who lost their children and feel deep sorrow for them especially because Christmas is only a few short days away. I am sure many families already had gifts wrapped for their children under the tree not knowing that their child would never make it to Christmas morning to unwrap them.
As we all enjoy our Christmas this year, let’s take a few moments to remember those families who lost their babies by saying a prayer for them.
